Contemporary Fiber Artists Maker Profile: Judy Mulford

Video #d12
by Graham Eccles & Val Burnett
2004, DVD, 45min

Mulford uses knotless netting to create open forms in waxed linen thread often over gourds. Her pieces relate to the family and classical feminist concerns sometimes combining symbolic vessels and figures with drawings and words. Other times she uses found objects - silverware, tin cans, buttons to make her point. The Maker Profile series include artist interviews, studio visits and footage of the artists at work.
